ASVCP Lifetime Achievement Award

The ASVCP Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes members of the ASVCP who have contributed to the advancement of veterinary clinical pathology through their research, teaching, and service on behalf of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. The Immediate Past President chairs a nomination committee consisting of at least 4 members of the ASVCP who are not currently members of the Executive Board. The committee considers nominations made by the members of the ASVCP or may put forward a nominee from the committee. Nominations must include letters of support from at least 5 ASVCP members that describe why the nominee is worthy of the award, including specific examples of how the candidate has affected the specialty and their impact on people in clinical pathology or others who use laboratory testing. After reviewing the nominations, the committee makes a recommendation to the ASVCP Executive Board, which must approve the nominee by majority vote. The ASVCP Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at the annual meeting. A photo will be requested of each person receiving the award.

Letters of support of nomination may be addressed to the Immediate Past President of the ASVCP and Chair of the nomination committee. The individual making the nomination is responsible for soliciting the letters of support. Letters may be sent by e-mail (preferred) or by surface mail to the address listed in the annual announcement for the award in the newsletter or on the listserv. Deadline for receipt of letters will be announced in the newsletter. If additional time is needed, or for further information please contact the Immediate Past President.
