Pfizer Global Research & Development Drug Safety Research & Development Clinical Pathology Individual Contributor The successful candidate should have a strong background in Clinical Pathology and an established record of success in a pharmaceutical or other research-based environment. Candidates should possess expertise in hematology and/or coagulation to provide evaluation of drug safety within these areas. Individual should also have documented success as a scientific mentor. Ideally, candidates will also have direct experience with developing, discovering, validating, and implementing innovative biomarker assays for critical project team activities. The ability to serve and effectively contribute on scientific teams, particularly in providing de-risking strategies and providing novel biomarkers for the portfolio will be an aspect of this position. Study directing experience relevant to investigational research would be beneficial. The individual will be required to provide written research reports and validation documents and also to deliver oral presentations to biomarker development projects. Excellent collaborative, organizational, and communication skills are essential because an important aspect of this role is to establish and maintain direct interactions with DSRD project team scientists and scientists in the therapeutic areas and biomarker departments within Research and Development. Candidates must have a D.V.M. or PhD in toxicology, physiology, biology, clinical pathology or related field with over 3 years of relevant experience in Clinical Pathology in the Pharmaceutical industry or Research environment. Diplomate of ACVP (clinical pathology) or ASCP certified with hematology experience preferred. University of Tennessee Residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology The Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tennessee, is accepting applications for a 3-year residency in veterinary clinical pathology with a starting date of July 1, 2008. Colorado State University Veterinary Clinical Pathology Residency/Combined Residency/PhD Program The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology, in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University offers two post-DVM combined residency or residency plus graduate research training positions in Clinical Pathology.
