Program Goals:
1) Training in the interpretation of hematologic, biochemical, cytologic and histopathologic samples. 2) Eligibility for ACVP board certification in Clinical Pathology. 3) Teaching experience in different professional student classes, small group discussion format and large group lectures. 4) Presentation experience at local, regional, and national professional meetings. 5) Clinical or basic research and scientific publication.
Program Strengths:
High case load, very varied high quality cases, active and inclusive oncology group, very flexible schedule, computerized medical case and record system, digital photomicroscopy, close interaction between clinical pathologists and professional students and clinical interns, residents, and faculty.
Training Activities:
Formal coursework, seminars, rounds, independent study, teaching professional students, clinical diagnostic duty, weekend duty.
