Program Goals:
1) Experience in clinical pathology

3) Teach clinical rotations to 5th year students and participate in junior lectures

Program Strengths:
All areas have equal emphasis. Histopathology rotation provides training in this area, but residents are not on duty roster for biopsies; they train on collected cases under the supervision of an anatomic pathologist.
Training Activities:
Formal coursework, seminars, independent study, teaching, journal clubs, clinical diagnostic duty, lab rotations, research projects, rotations to other labs (eg, toxicology lab).
Additional Training Areas:
Surgical biopsy, research techniques.
Coursework:
Hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, general pathology (mechanisms of disease), statistics.
