Program Goals:

Proficiency in diagnostic clinical pathology.

Preparation for ACVP certification exam.
Gain experience in teaching and giving oral presentations.
Program Strengths:
Proficiency in diagnostic clinical pathology; an emphasis on teaching both at the DVM student and resident level; exposure to cases involving a wide variety of infectious diseases; externships with Antech Labs offering exposure to a large number of samples and disease processes; opportunity to participate in small group and didactic teaching; weekly rounds, both clinical and anatomic pathology, with an emphasis on preparation for boards (case write-ups, mock boards).
Training Activities:
Service duty; presentations in rounds; teaching 4th year small group diagnostics rotation; didactic lectures in cytology elective and/or sophomore clinical pathology course; independent study.
Additional Training Areas:
Externships with Antech Labs.

Dependent on participation in graduate degree program.
