Program Goals:

  1. Eligibility and successful preparation for the ACVP board certification examination
  2. Expertise in skills and principles of laboratory medicine
  3. Teaching experience in the veterinary curriculum
  4. Exposure to biomedical research
  5. Preparation for a successful career in clinical pathology

 

Program Strengths:

Direct daily one-on-one interaction with faculty, diverse caseload (submissions from the teaching hospital and from outside practices), collegial environment

 

Training Activities:

Clinical diagnostic duty, independent study, journal club, cytology rounds, chemistry case rounds, rotations on surgical pathology and endocrinology services, seminars, large and small group teaching of veterinary students

 

Additional Training Areas:

Flexible program, designed to allow trainees to pursue areas of special interest; participation in VIN Quality Management course is encouraged; opportunities for graduate study (MS +/or PhD) if desired. More detailed information about the program is available upon request.
