ASVCP Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, Mary Anna Thrall - November, 2008

Mary Anna ThrallDr. Mary Anna Thrall has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology for her many scientific and leadership contributions. Dr. Thrall graduated from the University of Evansville in Indiana and received her DVM from Purdue University. She received a Master's Degree from Colorado State University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Clinical Pathology. She currently divides her professorial time between the Clinical Pathology Section of Colorado State University and the Department of Pathobiology, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies.

Dr. Thrall has contributed to advances in science through her research in lysosomal storage diseases and ethylene glycol toxicity. In addition, her contributions to clinical pathology include many case reports, clinical studies, and being editor of a very important textbook of veterinary clinical pathology. She has mentored over 40 clinical pathology residents and has participated in internationally recognized continuing education for practicing veterinarians. She has contributed to the board certification of many candidates through her work on the ACVP examination committee. Most recently, Dr. Thrall led the American College of Veterinary Pathologists as the College President.

Overall, Dr. Thrall is a gifted, giving, and talented individual that the ASVCP is honored to have as a member and leader. Congratulations Dr. Thrall!
