Training programs in veterinary clinical pathology traditionally consist of at least three years of dedicated post-veterinary specialty training. Some training programs include graduate study (MS or PhD) as a required or optional combined program. The following institutions have supported residency training programs in the past. Committee grants are awarded to ASVCP committees on an annual basis by the Executive Committee and applicants are selected by the overseeing committee.

Certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists
The ACVP Certifying Examination is a two-phase process that candidates must pass in order to be certified as Diplomates in veterinary clinical (or anatomic) pathology.
